Westland police seek help finding senior citizen missing for nearly a week

The Westland Police Department is looking for a 75-year-old man who has been missing since April 8 despite air and ground searches using thermal imaging devices.

James Sanford of Westland left his home in the 37000 block of Westwood Circle, near Joy Road and Newburgh, at about 2 p.m. Monday, according to a release from the Police Department.

Sanford is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 220 pound. He last was seen wearing blue sweat pants, a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black gym shoes and a blue “USA Baseball” ball cap. He has grey facial hair on his chin, police said.

He is in need of medication that he left at home, police said.
