Saturday's state basketball: Gohlke scores 31 as Oakland defeats IUPUI

Rochester — Jack Gohlke's 31 points led Oakland over IUPUI 107-59 on Saturday.

Gohlke made 10 3-pointers for the Golden Grizzlies (18-10, 13-4 Horizon League). Rocket Watts finished 6 of 8 from the field to add 15 points. Osei Price had 14 points and was 5 of 9 shooting (2 for 6 from 3-point range).

Greg Kampe's team improved to 18-10.

DJ Jackson led the way for the Jaguars (6-22, 2-15) with 17 points. Bryce Monroe added nine points for IUPUI. Qwanzi Samuels also had eight points. The loss is the eighth straight for the Jaguars.

Purdue Fort Wayne 83, (at) Detroit Mercy 69: Quinton Morton-Robertson had 24 points and three steals for the Mastodons (17-10, 8-8 Horizon League). Jalen Jackson scored 18 points and added six assists. Rasheed Bello was 6 of 11 shooting (2 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 15 points, while adding six rebounds.

Jayden Stone finished with 27 points and six rebounds for the Titans (1-27, 1-16). Detroit Mercy also got 17 points and eight assists from Marcus Tankersley. Edoardo Del Cadia also recorded 11 points.

(At) Central Michigan 69, Western Michigan 42: Derrick Butler scored 24 points and contributed nine rebounds for the Chippewas (15-10, 9-3 Mid-American Conference). Markus Harding scored 15 points and added seven rebounds. Brian Taylor went 5 of 6 from the field to finish with 13 points.

B. Artis White finished with 12 points and three steals for the Broncos (8-17, 5-7). Jefferson Monegro added eight points for Western Michigan. The loss is the sixth in a row for the Broncos.

(At) Eastern Michigan 69, Bowling Green 60: Tyson Acuff had 34 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (10-15, 3-9 Mid-American Conference). Legend Geeter added 13 points while going 5 of 9 and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, and they had seven rebounds. Arne Osojnik was 3 of 8 shooting to finish with seven points, while adding six rebounds.

Marcus Hill finished with 19 points and six rebounds for the Falcons (16-9, 7-5). Trey Thomas added 13 points and two steals for Bowling Green. Da'Shawn Phillip also had nine points, six rebounds and two steals.

(At) Ferris State 77, Wayne State 69: Ethan Erickson scored 26 and Ben Davidson 18 for Ferris State (19-6, 9-5 GLIAC). Rob Lee Jr. scored 16 and Jordan Briggs 15 for Wayne State (10-14, 4-11).
