Saturday's state basketball: Western Michigan beats Buffalo

Kalamazoo — B. Artis White scored 18 points as Western Michigan beat Buffalo 91-72 on Saturday.

Artis White added five rebounds and eight assists for the Broncos (10-17, 7-7 Mid-American Conference). Seth Hubbard scored 18 points while going 5 of 10 from the floor, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 from the line. Javonte Brown had 17 points and was 6 of 9 shooting and 5 of 10 from the free-throw line.

B. Artis White

The Bulls (4-23, 2-12) were led by Sy Chatman, who posted 23 points. Jonnivius Smith added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Buffalo. In addition, Ryan Sabol had 11 points.

Both teams play again on Tuesday. Western Michigan visits Eastern Michigan and Buffalo travels to play Kent State.

(At) Miami (Ohio) 88, Central Michigan 60: Bradley Dean had 20 points and contributed five rebounds for the RedHawks (13-14, 7-7 Mid-American Conference). Reece Potter shot 5 for 9 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line to add 15 points. Evan Ipsaro shot 3 for 4 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line to finish with 15 points.

The Chippewas (16-11, 10-4) were led by Anthony Pritchard, who posted 16 points and five assists. Aidan Rubio added nine points for Central Michigan. In addition, Markus Harding had eight points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

Ball State 58, (at) Eastern Michigan 56: Tyson Acuff had 19 points and shot 7 for 20 (2 for 7 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line for the Eagles (11-16, 4-10 Mid-American Conference). Jalin Billingsley scored 17 points and added six rebounds. Arne Osojnik shot 2 for 6, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc to finish with six points.

Basheer Jihad finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds, three steals and two blocks for the Cardinals (13-14, 5-9). Ball State also got 13 points from Mickey Pearson Jr. Jalin Anderson also had nine points, six rebounds and seven assists.

(At) Wayne State 84, Northern Michigan 80: Colin Golson Jr. scored 27, Jordan Briggs 17 and Rob Lee Jr. 11 for Wayne State (12-14, 6-11 GLIAC). Carson Smith scored 22 for Northern Michigan (20-8, 13-3).
