The Oakland University baseball team relied on a little teamwork to make a highlight-reel catch in a 7-3 victory over Northern Kentucky on Saturday at Oakland Baseball Field.

The Golden Grizzlies jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, but the Norse made a bid to get on the board when Colton Kucera led off the fourth inning with a drive that had had a chance to clear the left center-field fence.

Junior left fielder John Lauinger drifted to the fence, leaping and reaching his glove either at the top of the fence or just over it. Lauinger didn't make the catch, but he was able to bat the ball up in the air and back into play, where sophomore center fielder Reggie Bussey made a diving catch just as it was about to hit the warning track.

Lauinger and Bussey celebrated the catch with arms raised and an embrace.

The victory was the fourth in five games for Oakland (20-18, 10-7 Horizon), which wrapped up its series with Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
