Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy and running back Blake Corum have earned the Big Ten’s top individual honors for their positions.

Corum is a two-time winner of the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year award, while McCarthy became the first Michigan quarterback to earn the Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year award. The Big Ten announced the All-Big Ten offensive team on Wednesday, a day after revealing the defensive team.

Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, left, and Blake Corum earned top honors as the Big Ten's quarterback and running back of the year.

Tight end Colston Loveland and offensive linemen LaDarius Henderson, Drake Nugent and Zak Zinter earned first-team All-Big Ten honors.

McCarthy is 24-1 as Michigan's starting quarterback and has helped lead the Wolverines to a 12-0 record this season. Michigan is preparing to face Iowa for the Big Ten championship on Saturday. He has completed 191 of 257 passes and his 74.3% completion rate is second-best in the country.

McCarthy has 19 passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and 2,483 passing yards. He has been particularly effective on third down, completing 42 of 57 pass attempts for 615 yards. In third-and-7 or greater situations, McCarthy is 27 of 35 for 447 yards with 24 first downs and five touchdowns.

“Super proud of him and his work,” Michigan quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell said Wednesday while meeting with reporters. “Obviously, the first player in Michigan history to ever do that. He’s a special, talented player. He invests in the meeting room and the offseason, and for him to be rewarded with that is just special. I’m so happy for him. And his teammates, too, they’re a large part of that, the receivers, the O-line blocking for him and the running backs. Huge accomplishment for J.J. right there.”

Corum is the fourth player to win the league's running back award twice and is the only Michigan back to receive the honor since it was introduced in 2011. He has 976 rushing yards and an FBS-leading 22 rushing touchdowns, a new Michigan single-season record. Corum has lost only 12 yards on 202 carries.

Guard Trevor Keegan and receiver Roman Wilson were All-Big Ten second-team picks by the coaches and media, while tackle Karsen Barnhart was voted second team by the coaches and third team by the media. Tight end A.J. Barner and receiver Cornelius Johnson earned honorable mention.
