For the third time in two days, new Michigan basketball coach Dusty May has made a roster addition.

This time, May received a commitment on Saturday from Yale transfer Danny Wolf, a 7-footer who is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign and was a first-team All-Ivy League selection.

Danny Wolf averaged 14.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while shooting nearly 35% from deep this past season at Yale.

Wolf made a massive leap this past season in his first year as a full-time starter. He averaged 14.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 blocks in 30.8 minutes per game for a 23-win Yale team that won the Ivy League tournament title and upset Auburn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Wolf shot 50.9% on 2-pointers, 34.5% on 3-pointers and 71.7% on free throws and tallied 14 double-doubles across 32 games.

Against top competition last season, Wolf posted 11 points and six rebounds at Kansas, 13 points and five rebounds against Auburn, and nine points and 10 rebounds against San Diego State, with the last two occurring during the Big Dance.

Wolf, who has two years of eligibility remaining, will provide the Wolverines with size, skill and pick-and-pop ability. He’ll also help bolster a retooled frontcourt that’s in need of a center after Tarris Reed Jr., last season’s starting big, transferred to UConn.

Wolf joins four-star guard Justin Pippen, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, and North Texas grad transfer Rubin Jones as the latest additions to the program. Pippen and Jones both announced their commitments on Friday.
