Detroit — The first game of the Tigers-Cardinals series was postponed Monday night with persistent showers and thunderstorms forecasted for the area.

The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader Tuesday, with the first game starting at 3:40 p.m.

Monday's series opener between the Tigers and Cardinals at Comerica Park was postponed.

The only tickets valid for the doubleheader Tuesday will be those for Tuesday’s originally scheduled 6:40 p.m. game. Fans with paid tickets for Monday may exchange their tickets for Tuesday’s doubleheader or for any future 2024 regular-season game of similar value.

Jack Flaherty will face his former team for the first time in Game 1. The Tigers are listing TBA for Game 2, but it is likely right-hander Matt Manning will be summoned from Triple-A Toledo as the 27th man and make his third start this month.

Kenta Maeda, who was the Tigers' scheduled starter Monday, will make his next start in the series finale on Wednesday.
