What to expect at Lions' NFL Draft Experience
Detroit — Have you ever wanted your fortune read by a Dan Campbell Zoltar Machine?
Before you answer that, let us stop you — because you’re in luck.
That very machine — dubbed “Grit and Glory Fortunes” — will be on display for all three days of the NFL Draft as part of a Detroit Lions-centric exhibit at the NFL Draft Experience near Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit.
The activation is one of several at Hart Plaza that will allow fans to win prizes, test their skills and even get a temporary tattoo that shows off their love of the Lions.
Here’s more of what you can expect from the Lions’ activation at the NFL Draft Experience.
Uniforms of Lions past
On your immediate left, you'll see game-worn uniforms of Lions past, including wide receiver Calvin Johnson and tight end Brandon Pettigrew. Directly in front of them are mannequins dressed in the team's new uniforms, which were revealed last Thursday.
Grit and Glory Fortunes
Dan Campbell's got the beer, the firewood and the hot dogs. He just needs you to bring the gasoline.
The novelty is in having the plastic cast of Campbell read some intensified quote from his past, but this booth also has a souvenir element to it: Campbell's Zoltar machine spits out a card to commemorate the moment.
Tattoo station
Just past the uniform displays and Zoltar machine, you can get a(n airbrushed) tattoo that shows off your Lions pride. The booth is completely free, and fans can pick from nine different designs — including the Aidan Hutchinson eye black.
Postcard kiosk
The activation features a postcard section near the back that will allow fans to log their Detroit experience to those back home.
Down the tunnel
Ever wonder what it feels like to come out of the tunnel at an NFL game? Well, now you can. Fans will enter the tent through a replica of Ford Field's graffitied tunnel, complete with fog machines and an announcer welcoming in each individual family.
Games
Test your hand at a number of different carnival-adjacent games, including a high striker game and Lions-themed Skee-Ball. Also in the space is a "reaction relay," where fans will look to hit as many lights on the wall as quickly and accurately as possible.
Make the play
One of the other cooler stations in the Lions' activation is the ability to photograph yourself making a play for your favorite team. A photobooth that replicates a fan catching a pass at Ford Field is stationed near the entrance.
