Lions' Darius Slay suffers concussion vs. 49ers

Santa Clara, Calif. – Detroit Lions All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay suffered a concussion in the third quarter of the team’s game with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Slay was injured when attempting to tackle 49ers fullback Kyle Juszcyk. The players’ helmets slammed together on the stop and Slay remained down on the field for a couple minutes while tended to by the team’s trainers.

After being evaluated in the sideline tent, Slay was taken to the locker room. It marks the second straight week he was evaluated for a head injury. Last week, he collided with teammate Ziggy Ansah, but only missed two snaps.

Prior to the injury, Slay had five tackles.
