Lions safety Kerby Joseph turned up in the crowd at the team's uniform reveal in Detroit on Thursday night, but his teammates will be missing that energy at Detroit's offseason programs.

Joseph, who's entering his third NFL season, told reporters at Ford Field in Detroit he won't be back until training camp because of an offseason procedure to fix a hip injury suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 season against the Seattle Seahawks.

The injury sidelined Joseph for Weeks 3 and 4 and he was questionable in Week 5 but ultimately returned in that contest and stayed off the end-of-week injury report for the remainder of the season.

"[I'm not] gonna come back until training camp," Joseph said. "Y'all just bear with me. But I'll be back."

The Lions' offseason program officially kicked off Monday. OTAs and mandatory minicamp are held from late May to early June. Joseph downplayed the injury's limitations on his 2023 season, which produced 82 combined tackles and four interceptions, the exact same totals as his 2022 rookie season in each category.

"If I'm out there, I'm going 100%. [There isn't a] hindrance. I'm gonna give it all I got every time," Joseph said.
