Allen Park — With each day that passes in the NFL Draft, collars get loosened, waistbands become elastic, and the general vibe relaxes.

The Detroit Lions took that to the extreme for the third and final day of the draft on Saturday.

As the cameras cut to the Lions headquarters, each member of the war room was wearing a custom-made black jersey with the name and playing number of Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

Each member of the Detroit Lions war room was wearing a custom-made black jersey with the name and playing number of Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

Lions general manager Brad Holmes said the idea came from president Rod Wood.

"I'm not taking any credit for this one," Holmes said. "I'm glad the idea was brought up, but this was Rod Wood's idea for us to wear these jerseys. I thought it looked awesome on television.

"Obviously, with the new blacks and just the whole story (about Campbell wanting the black jerseys)…it all kind of came full circle."

According to Wood at the team's jersey reveal, the black jerseys — which were unveiled last week — were a special request from Campbell, who played in Detroit when the Lions last wore black jerseys. Campbell, a tight end who played 10 NFL seasons, was in Detroit from 2006-08 and wore the No. 89.

While the apparel was a hit on social media, it did raise an important question from Lions fans: When do they hit the team store?

The Lions have made fashion statements over each of the last two days. For Friday night's Rounds 2 and 3, the Lions' war room wore matching sweatshirts that read "Positional Villain" on the front, a nod to how Lions general manager Brad Holmes has frequently disregarded positional value in drafts but succeeded anyway.
