Moritz Seider achieved a career first Saturday in the Red Wings' 1-0 loss against Nashville.

Seider was involved in his first career fight in a second-period battle against Predators' leading scorer Filip Forsberg.

It's likely neither team's general manager or head coach were entirely thrilled with these two particular players dropping the gloves, but the bout energized Bridgestone Arena and likely ignited both teams.

The two squared off after battling each other along the boards. Both players exchanged crosschecks before dropping the gloves and connecting on some solid punches.

Though neither is known for his fighting ability, both handles themselves quite well, with Seider earning the decision on most cards with his volume of punches thrown and using his reach.

Wings defenseman Moritz Seider, left, fights Nashville's Filip Forsberg on Saturday.

"Just battling for the puck and got crosschecked and we got the best of our emotions," Seider told Bally Sports Detroit. "It was pretty enjoyable for everyone. It's a lot of emotion in that game."
