Detroit City FC played Frosinone Calcio, representing Italy's Serie A, one of the world's top soccer leagues.

The fourth-tier Le Rouge paid dearly, receiving a 10-0 shellacking from the recently promoted side in a friendly Tuesday before a record crowd of 7,887 at Keyworth Stadium.

Camillo Ciano (7', 62'), Paolo Sammarco (28', 30') and Paolo Ghiglione (53', 85') each scored twice for Frosinone, which opens the Serie A season at Atalanta Aug. 19.

DCFC's season finale will not be remembered for the lopsided result as much as the high quality of international opponents that came through Hamtramck this season.

Along with the Italian first division side, DCFC hosted Mexican first division side Club Necaxa (2-1, loss) and German second division fan cult favorite FC St. Pauli (6-2, loss).
